Meeting on April 18, 2007

Business meeting 2:00

Guest Speaker - Marland Schmitt - program on posing. This will be a good refresher for some of us as well as valuable for some of our newer members as we enter into the wedding and senior portrait season.

What a rush!

Whew! The whirlwind conference season has ended. What a rush!

It started with our state conference in Niagara Falls and almost immediately went straight to Vegas for the WPPI conference. After the week in Vegas, it was off to Florida for some much needed R&R for 8 days. But alas, with so much information in my head from those conferences, I had to put my new found knowledge to use down in Florida. There are too many photos to post here, so you'll have to settle for the photo of Ellen and I from incoming PPSNY President Steve Bergano's party. You can view some cool photos from the desert near Vegas and some bridal sessions in Florida on my blog at http://cheslerphotography.blogspot.com. This is not a personal plug for my blog, it's more for an inspirational boost to encourage you to take what you've learned at the conferences and put them to use. Step out of the comfort zone and try something new. With wedding and senior season mere minutes away, now is a great time to implement some of those new concepts to enter the busy time with a sense of renewal and excitement.

Message from the 2nd Vice President, FLPPSNY

Good Morning FL Group.....Hi this is "gimpy" Hank Yasses here, my knee surgery went very well and actually I'm quite well walking and climbing stairs, as my therapy is over and I am looking for SPRING...Can anyone tell me where to find it!!! Well it's been a different kind of winter for sure.

Now that my 1.5 years of knee replacements are over, I am going to concentrate more on my photography and artwork...I want to complete my Masters and Certification...I think all pros should work toward both of these, as it makes one a better photographer by competing and the Certification proves , if not just for yourself, that you have taken the time to improve your knowledge with your eye, mind, and heart...Monthly speakers are a big part of improving, seeing what others are doing in other parts of the County and adding that to what you are already doing.

One other thing I would like to mention is that I am offering "Photographic Painting" to other studios as an add-on to there portrait offerings...I plan on going more into detail in the next news letter...If anyone would like to see some my art I have completed, please go to my web site at www.pbase.com/henryj_1.

Well I think I have taken up enough of your time, until next time....

Hank Yasses
2nd Vice-President, FLPPSNY
